What is an MR16 halogen lamp?
MR refers to the type of reflector - multifaceted pressed glass reflector. 16 designates the approximate diameter of the reflector in 1/8" increments: 16 x 1/8" equals 2". A halogen capsule is the light source located inside the MR reflector.

What is a dichroic reflector?
Dichroic reflectors reflect visible light forward while allowing the invisible infrared light (radiated heat) to pass out of the rear of the lamp. This helps keep the beam of light "cooler".
